All children learn differently, which means the pace set in the classroom might be too fast or slow for some students to succeed. According to the educators at JEI Learning Center South San Jose in California, individual assessment of a child’s needs will help them excel. The learning center's diagnostic evaluations give California parents and teachers the information needed to devise targeted methods to help students retain what they’ve learned and feel confident in their studies.

Below, the staff at San Jose’s premier learning center explains how their diagnostic system helps students improve their math skills and reading and writing comprehension.

How JEI Learning Center’s Diagnostic Testing Helps Students Excel

Analyzes Student’s Test Scores to Customize Study Programs

Testing a student on their knowledge is the best way to find out where they might need help. During the diagnostic evaluation, children will be tested on math concepts and English studies materials for their grade level. The findings are detailed and analyzed in a two-page report, which is used to customize a study program tailored to the student’s needs.

Makes Learning Fun

Because the evaluation report highlights a student’s individual strengths and weaknesses, educators at the learning center can come up with a program to make studying fun for the child. If a student loves storytelling and excels at language arts, for example, the teacher can use that knowledge elsewhere. If the student is poor at math, framing basic concepts and equations around a story will pique the child’s interest and help them retain what’s learned.

Builds Confidence in the Classroom

This newfound confidence will also manifest in the classroom, as children are much more eager to participate and have fun when they can keep up with the pace of their classmates.
