• When In Doubt, Take It Slow: Pulling a trailer will also impact your ability to speed up. Rapid acceleration will decrease your car’s efficiency and put a strain on your engine.
• Take Wide Turns: Remember, when you’re driving a trailer, your turning radius will be much larger. You may find that you need to swing out slightly to complete a turn without hitting the curb or clipping your bumper with the trailer hitch. 
• Only Tow What Your Car Can Handle: All cars, trucks, and SUVs have a towing limit recommended by the manufacturer. Before hitching up the RV, check that your vehicle has the towing capacity to handle the trailer. If the trailer is heavier than your car’s towing capacity, use a different vehicle.
