imageCentral Kentucky is famous for its miles of dry-laid stone fencing, which has stood for generations. When you travel to Hall’s On The River from Athens Road, you'll pass this historical landmark.

That's not the only big historical draw in town—did you know that in 1776, a band of Shawnee Indians captured Jemima Boone (Daniel Boone’s daughter) and Elizabeth and Fanny Calloway? When the girls were rescued, Fanny married one of the recovery party’s members—Captain John Holder. If you travel to Hall’s On The River from the northern shore of the Kentucky River, you may have passed the spot where these girls were captured and then rescued.

Another fun historical fact: In 1793, Captain Holder established Holder’s Tavern on the very site where Hall's On The River now resides. For centuries, statesmen and even royalty have enjoyed food and drinks on this land. Now, Hall’s On The River works toward a singular goal—to create meaningful memories that will soon be historical tales.
