What is your most memorable NYC moment?
I think the moment that stands out the most is one particular year when my grandmother took my brother and me to the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular. We would go every year with her, but one year she got back stage passes for us. We got to see all of the animals from the nativity scene. It was an unforgettable moment and still remains extra special to me because it involves the memory of my dear, sweet grandmother, Rea Weiner.
What is your favorite Manhattan neighborhood? Why?
While Manhattan has so many great neighborhoods, my favorite is the where I currently reside: Murray Hill. This neighborhood allows my wonderful spouse to live in a very comfortable and affordable apartment with great outdoor space, as well as an unobstructed East River view.
It is also a neighborhood that is rich with great restaurants, movie theaters, and wonderful shopping. It is also easily accessible to venues out of the city, like Long Island, Brooklyn, Queens and New Jersey. It also is equally accessible to uptown and downtown Manhattan, so in a way we can experience all the best of Manhattan living without a difficult commute.
Why did you choose to pursue a career as a New York real estate professional? What is your favorite part of the job?
After spending many years in the wireless communication business I was looking for a career that would allow me to be my own business owner, while at the same time representing one of the most prestigious residential real estate brokerage firms in all of NYC, TOWN Residential.
My favorite part of my job is finding people their homes. When someone is shopping for their future home there is a certain level of passion involved. This is the place where they will return to every day for peace and tranquility. Another part of my job is selling people's homes. Very often people want to find a buyer who will take care of their home just as they did. That is very rewarding to me.
What is your greatest motivator?
Having the ability to decide my own destiny, within reason. In NYC real estate, if you work hard and are tenacious, you are going to be successful. To me, that is an enormous motivator.
What are your greatest passions?
The greatest passions are my son, my spouse and other family members, travel, spending time in the Hamptons on the beach, gardening, theatre, shopping, movies, and fine foods.
If you could invite anyone to a dinner party, whom would you invite?
Lucille Ball. Ever since I was a child I was always a Lucy fan. Not just a fan of "I Love Lucy," which brought her to prime time television, but I adored her as an actress even before she took that role. She was responsible for bringing laughter into the homes of millions worldwide.
If you had only one day left in NYC, how would you spend it?
I would spend it by waking up very early, going for a long walk in Times Square before it got crowded with tourists. Then I would have lunch at Del Frisco's Steak house. Then proceed to go to Barney's shopping for some fine suits and leather goods. Once that part of my day was accomplished I would go to a matinee show on Broadway, and for a massage at The Nickel Spa.
After that I would go home and relax for a bit and then head to dinner at Picholine before taking in another show on Broadway. Following the theater, I would go dancing at a venue where I knew friends of ours would be. This entire day would include my spouse. That would make my only day left in NYC complete.
