Comfort food comes to the Upper East Side, but have no fear fine people of Manhattan, the ambiance is nothing short of spectacular.
Georgette Farkas has teamed up with Chef David Malbequi, both former members of Daniel Boulud’s A-team, to open what has quickly become the “it” spot for the best rotisserie chicken in town.Sourced locally from the Zimmerman Farm and served with the diner’s choice of jus, the simple Poulet Roti is anything but, especially when one chooses to up the ante and order a sumptuous plate of Poule de Luxe, brimming with wild mushrooms and seared foie gras.
Other rustic French standouts are bolstered by spit-roasted, large format feasts for the table-- Malbequi’s specialty-- and a pulse quickening baked potato, crisped to perfection before being stuffed to the gills with truffled mashed potatoes. Oh, mon dieu!. Here, classic fare is served in a classy atmospheric blend of Baroque flourishes, stunning modern touches and that certain “je ne sais quoi”.
