Yes, that really is a chicken parmesan 10 times the size of the Hope Diamond, and yes, it’s what’s for dinner at this newly opened Italian food mecca. Sure, Quality Meats’ sister restaurant may be smack dab in the middle of midtown, but don’t let that take away from this tour de force of Italian-American Steakhouse proportions. With the AvroKO design group’s keen sensibilities at play, each floor, two, and unique dining room, four, feature relics from old world Italian butcher shops, paving the way for some serious plates with a similarly authentic, if not epic, appeal. Stick with the traditional and watch as their house steak sauce is prepared tableside and ladled over prime cuts of locally sourced beef, or indulge in Chef Scott Tacinelli’s more inspired dishes, like a knockout pappardelle with black truffles or the unctuous lacquered filet with bone marrow and crispy cippolinis. A wine list over 300 bottles deep, and a cocktail program helmed by former Monkey Bar slinger, Bryan Schnieder, promise tasteful tipples that run the gamut, like the food, from tried and true favorites to reimagined takes. The “quality” of the ingredients, as well as the larger than life experience, speak louder than words, which is a good thing, because one should never talk with a full mouth.
