Manhattan Wine Shop Reveals Their Top 3 Summer Favorites, Manhattan, New York

When it comes to refreshing summer drinks, there’s nothing better than a crisp bottle of wine to serve at a party or enjoy under the sun. But, with everything that’s available, it can be hard to know which bottle to choose when you stop by a wine shop. To help you find the best wines this summer, the experts from Martin Brothers Wine & Spirits in the Upper West Side share some of their favorites.

3 Summer Recommendations From a NYC Wine Shop

1. Chassagne-Montrachet From Domaine Morey Coffinet

The Domaine Morey Coffinet winery was founded in the Côte d’Or region of France—commonly known as Burgundy to Americans—and is home to classic pinot noir and chardonnay. A beautiful example of a French chardonnay that departs from the buttery and rich tones of an oaked wine from California, the Chassagne-Montrachet is light, crisp, and full of fragrant aromas and high minerality. It’s refreshing on even the hottest summer day, and it pairs beautifully with everything from grilled fish to a fresh summer salad.   wine shop

2. Santorini Assyrtiko

As you travel southeast across Europe and into the Mediterranean Sea, you’ll find the home of Assyrtiko on the island of Santorini off the coast of Greece. The volcanic soil, high winds, and warm climate make for strong vines that produce an exciting yet delicate flavor profile. This grape variety is newly popular outside Greece, so you can find a premium bottle without having to spend too much. Many would describe Assyrtiko as a savory wine that is best drank with fried or baked fish with lemon or other Greek-style foods.

3.  Chateau de Pourcieux Rose

Rosé comes in a wide variety of profiles from very dry to decadently sweet, and picking the right one can be a challenge. This rosé from Chateau de Pourcieux in Provence combines Vermentino and Cabernet grapes to create an approachable dry wine that’s subtly sweet and will satisfy just about any palette. As an affordable option, it’s probably a good idea to buy a few bottles this summer to keep on hand.
