In two matters in Farmington Town Court, Mr. Corletta won victories for his Driving While Intoxicated client's.

In People v. S.C. (5/22/17), Mr. Corletta persuaded the Court that a prior Speedy Trial Decision it made was clearly erroneous, and got the Court to reverse its own prior Decision; a rare occurrence. Mr. Corletta clearly demonstrated a superior knowledge of the law; clearly showing the Court was wrong. The Court will now reconsider Mr. Corletta’s Motion to Dismiss on behalf of his client. This is extremely significant, because his client is a 2-time prior offender who falls under the recently enacted New York Multiple Drug & Alcohol-Related Offender Regulations, which would result in a 10 year suspension of the client’s license.

In People v. R.W. (5/22/17), Mr. Corletta’s client, a commercial driver, averted loss of a job through Mr. Corletta’s efforts in immediately pointing out deficiencies in the Accusatory Instrument charging the client with DWI, which was based on a wholly subjective 911 call by a civilian witness. Mr. Corletta prevented the suspension of his client's license at arraignment, allowing the client to keep the job; a significant achievement for his 73 year old client who depends on that income. The charge had nothing to do with the performance of the job, and Mr. Corletta also personally obtained a letter from the client's employer stating such.
