Everyone has a favorite shirt. There’s no way around it; it’s easy to fall in love with the shirt that you got from a surf shop while on Maui in June or the one from the brewery you visited when you went to California last year. If your favorite shirt has artwork on it, caring for it properly is of the utmost importance. Honolulu Shirt Shop, Honolulu’s favorite place for personalized shirts, wholesale shirts, and embroidery, knows what it’s like to lose a favorite shirt to the iron or the dryer. Don’t let your favorite shirt’s art become cracked and faded. Instead, let Honolulu Shirt Shop’s tips guide you.

5 Ways To Keep Your Custom T-Shirt Looking New

1. Wash Your Shirt Inside Out In A Pillowcase

Flipping your T-shirt inside-out is a good way to help preserve its artwork, but putting your inside-out shirt into a pillowcase is even better. Your shirt design won’t come into contact with as much potentially damaging water and detergent as it normally would.

Shirt Design2. Use Only Cold Water

Avoid having your shirt designs crack by washing your graphic T-shirts in cold water. Hot water is harsh on the artwork and can result in cracking and other undesirable consequences.

3. Hang Your Graphic T-shirt To Dry

Perhaps you’ve recently paid for a few custom shirts to be made for the company you’ve just created. You wash them, you dry them, and then they no longer fit. Not only can shrinking occur when you put your personalized T-shirts into the dryer, but the art can be damaged by the heat as well. Avoid this by hanging your beloved shirts in order to safely dry them.

Shirt Design4. Use More Than One Hanger When Drying

If you’re particular about the way your graphic T-shirt fits, hanging it to dry isn’t a one-hanger ordeal. Stack more than one hanger inside of each shirt you dry in order to prevent the neck from stretching. Three or four should do the trick. If you aren’t bothered by a potentially stretched neck, still hang your shirt to dry on a hanger.

5. Spray With Water To Remove Wrinkles

Heat can be quite detrimental to the appearance of your shirt’s graphics. Thus, ironing them isn’t an option. Instead, hang them in the bathroom while you take a hot shower or spray them with water to remove wrinkles.
